"The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side."

The Park Board:
Many Questions,
Few Answers!

There always seems to be an abundance of questions about the Park Board, but few answers!
Many people ask whether it
really operates for the benefit of the public; or does it actually have another agenda?

However the real questions about the Park Board boil down to:
Why was the Park Board created? What is its purpose? Is it accountable to anyone; and if so, who?

These questions continue year after year, because there is a sense that the Park Board isn't addressing the basic needs of the public, when they use their facilities!

Take a ride with us to East Beach, and see what you think:

East Beach
We approach the entrance to East Beach,
on Boddecker Drive, and find a new lake on our right.
Why is there a lake here?

East Beach
When we get close enough to read the sign,
we can see that this is a "Free Parking" area!!

East Beach
Maybe, we'll do better on the other side of the road!
Oops, there is a lake over there, too!

East Beach
Ouch, the sign on this side says it's a "Free Parking" area, too!
Maybe it just rained, and the whole park is flooded.

East Beach
We can pay an outrageous $8 entry fee,
and see if there is any parking inside!

East Beach
Surprise, surprise! The entire parking area inside the gate is dry!

East Beach
No water on this parking area!

East Beach
No flooding by the pavilion, either.
The only flooding is where the "Free Parking" areas have been scooped out, in a concave shape, to catch and retain water!

What do you think about how the Park Board is managing East Beach for your benefit?

In theory, the Park Board answers to the Mayor, and the City Council. Why don't you test this theory. Tell them what you think, about this situation, and see if anything happens!!
